I’ve been a student of Intergenerational Engagement for many years. From the early days of “Cause Marketing” to managing a Million Millennial Mom school volunteer program. I have traveled across the U.S. and the Caribbean speaking on the topic. I have so much knowledge and information stored in my head that it is often difficult to decide which parts of it I share in my presentations and speaking engagements. I can’t count the number of times my beautiful and supporting wife has told me; “You Need to Write a Book!”
I am proud to announce that I have decided to do just that. I have authored Intergenerational Engagement 5.0 – Driving Productivity & Profits by Embracing Employee & Customer “Age Diversity.”
The book focuses on the five (point 0) generations that are active in the economy, in schools, and in the community today. At DKMC, communication obstacles are the number one issue we see in our coaching conversations with businesses and nonprofits. Many of today’s communications challenges are due to an Age Diverse Workforce. Many are quick to blame Millennials for the challenges. It’s bigger than just one generation. Every generation has their preferred ways they like to manage and be managed. They prefer different communications styles. No matter what generation you are from, It is important that you first become self-aware and understand your own generational preferences. Once you understand and appreciate your generational styles, you can then work more efficiently with others. Effective communications make the world go round, and this book will help.
